We have been recieving alot of phone calls lately from customers reporting an automated message, allegedly from BT saying they have been monitoring your broadband and the IP address of your router has been comprimised / suspicious behaviour / hacked
You are then prompted to press a number on your keypad then you are redirected to a person usually with an Indian accent called Trevor or some other English sounding name
The person on the other end will threaten to terminate / cut off your broadband, unless you allow them to fix your computer / network
These are all LIES constructed to frighten you into downloading software to your computer that will allow them access to your files etc
PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS
PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD THEIR SOFTWARE
PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY FINANCIAL DETAILS
Just hang up the phone and go about your day as normal
